Joze School of Dance Is Closing

With a heart full of gratitude and emotion, I am sharing news that is both deeply personal and incredibly difficult: after 20 wonderful years, Joze School of Dance will be permanently closing its doors in July 2025, finishing with our annual Summer School. I truly hope to see as many of you there as possible so we can celebrate together everything we have built and shared with Joze School of Dance’s ‘Swansong’ performance on Friday 1st August.

This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. Joze School of Dance has been my life, my passion, my second home, and all of you — every dancer, parent, teacher, and supporter — have been my extended family, my “Team Joze”. Together, we’ve created something truly special: a place where children took their first pliés, teens found their confidence, and lifelong friendships were born on and off the dance floor.

Over the past two decades, I’ve had the privilege of watching thousands of dancers grow — not just in technique, but in spirit. I’ve celebrated every leap, every turn, every first skip and this has been part of a journey I will cherish for the rest of my life.

This decision hasn’t come lightly, and it certainly hasn’t come quickly. Sadly, like so many small schools and businesses, we’ve felt the growing challenges of recent times — with rising costs, fewer students able to take part, and the financial pressures that many families and organisations are facing. I have reflected deeply, considered every option, and ultimately had to make a choice that puts family and well-being first, both for myself and for the school.

This has not solely been a financial decision. As many of you will have no doubt noticed over the years, I have had a number of injuries and have had to manage my pain levels for a long time now. I also needed to carefully consider my own physical health going forwards.

While this chapter is coming to a close, the memories, lessons, and love will stay with me forever.

Thank you — for trusting me with your children, for showing up with passion and perseverance, and for making this school the “Team Joze” that I am endlessly proud of and all we have accomplished.
