About the class
Contemporary is a fun, expressive, non-syllabus class, offering students the chance to do their own choreography and develop their individual styles, as well as to learn many different moves and perform to a wide range of music. Pieces could be choreographed to anything from the rhythm of a drum to a rock ballad. Lessons help to build both the creativity required to demonstrate emotion through dance, and the physical strength and flexibility that is also needed. The atmosphere of the class creates a wonderful opportunity to interact and collaborate with other members and really dance to express your feelings. While contemporary has no exams and no syllabus, there is the opportunity to perform in annual shows, although this is not necessary to participate fully in classes.
What to wear
Close-fitting, comfortable clothing and bare feet.
